Waikato Regional Routes
Looking to travel out of the city and urban area? Then you’ll need a regional bus service. These operate out to local towns such as Huntly, Paeroa, Morrinsville, Te Aroha, Cambridge and Raglan. For information on regional buses go here.
Hamilton Bus Fares
Bus fares prices are quite reasonable. There are 3 types of fares: Cash, Explorer and BEE Card.
Adults cash fares are usually $4.00. For each Zone you travel through generally add $1 per extra zone. Children under 5 are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
A concession card known as a BEE Card can be purchsed at discounted rates. The BEE card acts as a stored value card allowing you load credit on to the card. Saves you fumbling for change! The other benefit is that fares are reduced to $2.00 for adults + $1 per extra zone. You can top-up your BEE Card online or by eftpos at the Hamilton Transport Centre. More information on the BEE card can be found here
Hamilton Transport Centre
The Hamilton Transport Centre is the central hub and bus depot for all services and is located in the Hamilton CBD, on the corner of Bryce and Angelsea Streets
